Go here on an iPad: itllbebetter.com
Or an iPhone, or iPod touch, or Safari, or Firefox, or Chrome, or Opera.
I’m done with Flash. Muxtape rewritten in HTML5 is about a quarter of its previous length (and complexity) and uses no plugins. Other than Firefox requiring ogg versions of the audio all the assets are the same; it detects iPhone-like devices and turns on the requisite extra features. Add it to your home screen and relaunch it, when it runs full screen and responds to rotation (especially on the iPad) I bet you can’t distinguish it from a native app. It even eats up that YouTube embed.
Running in Mobile Safari has other advantages, too. Since it’s privileged by Apple to run in the background, you can listen to music and use pretty much any other app simultaneously. For now this is only possible with HTML5.
Enjoy the album, it’s really great. Francis plays at Bowery Ballroom tonight.
I love this.
