Everything Should Have An API
Everything Should Have An API
My laptop computer has a 2.4GHz dual-core processor in it. It is capable of computing 50-kajillion things every second of every day for years and years, but until everything can access everything else, it’s not as useful as it could be. Right now, hardware isn’t the bottleneck in getting things done with computers. It’s less-than-great software that doesn’t play nice with others.
Smart guy Scott Jackson says that all software should follow the Linux philosophy. It’s true.

A 21-year-old Macintosh SE/30 that can comfortably use the Internet and Mac OS 8.1. Made possible by an array of user upgrades — the SE/30 has one slot and a few standard ports which were creatively maximized by aftermarket modifications. It’s a nice example of honing a tool to do a few things well, instead of replacing it with the Swiss Army Knife that throws in a flashlight and flash drive.

Spring Cleaning: These Gadgets Must Go!

Apple TV — First gen, 40GB drive, original box SOLD Canon PowerShot SD750 — 7.1 megapixels, original box SOLD Nikon D90 — Two batteries, IR remote, original box SOLD Nikon DX…Selling something in its original box is nerd for letting someone else pretend they were the original buyer.

This video of Jonathan “Jony” Ive from Macworld 1999 is creepy and weird.
Here’s how it goes:
Sexy music plays while Jony says “A computer absolutely can be sexy…” ??? Jony says “Yeah, it can,” and laughs knowingly.WHAT HAPPENS IN STEP #2?!
